You are A Slave To Time And Your Time Management Is Wrong

How many times have you felt that 24 hours is not enough for you?
Who the hell even decided a day should have 24 hours? Some times I wish I had gotten a few more hours in a day to get some things done.
I won’t mind a time-freezing machine either.
We all have 24 hours, and yet some manage more in the few hours; we spend weeks on others.

Richard Branson owns more than 400 companies worldwide. He cannot even spend even 1 day to manage 1 company in a year.
So, why does some people have a love relationship time while we have a cat-and-mouse relationship?

Did You Say YES Too Many time?
I have, and am regretting, saying YES to too many things because I thought volume makes up for speed. It usually backfires.
Maybe this will get me the recognition I need.
Maybe this project will be my breakthrough.
Maybe this will open new doors for me.
Maybe….
Each small project feels like progress, but it eats away the time you have, which is the most precious commodity you have.
The more you succeed, the more you’ll be asked to do. And if you are a vehicle without a gear, you don’t accelerate toward success. You will be accelerating towards burnout and crash out.
Working harder is not the solution we need, but that is the most common fix it solution thrown around.
Work mindfully.
Respect time.
TIME IS THE SACRED GOD.
If you disrespect your GOD, you will end up banished, worn out, tired and in despair.
Time management is a ritual to your God and not a productivity hack.
Time’s temple has 3 pillars: allocation, prioritisation, and utilisation.
Allocation: You cannot create time; hence, what are you sacrificing for this project? Is it your peace? How much are you allocating?
Prioritisation: Which projects matter? Is it to be done immediately or can you push it for a later date? When I treat a patient, I must allocate time to document it. But which takes priority?
Utilisation: Have a plan for your time God and you win half the battles. Allocate and execute with devotion.
If you wish to worship your time God, enter his temple and dedicate it to the rituals. Do not stand outside the temple and hope that God shows up on a motorbike.
I give you 2 rituals for TIME GOD.
Exercise 1: The Time Estimation Audit (takes 10 minutes)
Time Estimation Audit
The tool you need is a piece of paper and a pen. Start the ritual by writing down all the major activities in your day. The above document contains a sample time estimation audit and how to do it.
Mention how much time you guess you spend for each activity. No tracking, only guessing. It is so simple.

Don’t be shy. Add what you think is relevant. Add everything.
NOW Guess……
Add them all up to see how many hours you have in a day.
When I first did it, I found I had 28 hours in a day. Pretty amazing, right?
Nope, it is not. I was overestimating and violating my TIME GOD.TIME God was not kind towards me. He blesses those who understand his bidding and leaves those who deviate. You are lying to yourself and to your time.
This shows you are working on assumptions and utilising time that is not yours, and you will fail.
Exercise 2
The second task is an actual audit of your time for 3 days to 7 days. The more days you measure, the more accurate it becomes. Split each day into 1-hour chunks and log as the day goes by to see where each hour is spent.
Compare and see where the difference is. See how far you and your time is.
Let me know how time eludes you in the comments.
